Jacqueline Dyer, PhD, MAUML, MSW, LICSW, is an Assistant Professor at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary-Boston, and Directs, and teaches in, the MA in Counseling Program, license and non-license tracks.  She is an early career researcher whose interests are clergy compassion fatigue and domestic violence in faith communities.  Her other activities include being a clinical supervisor in community agencies.  Dr. Dyer volunteers regularly in community programs, is active in a professional social work organization and presents at conferences.


This Workshop explores the culture of academia and the tension produced by the many competing expectations.  The presenter will address considerations for building and retaining personal efficacy.  The presentation includes three approaches to self-care and teaches attendees techniques from each approach.
